Jarrett Rivers has mainly been restricted to substitute appearances since his move to Blackpool, however Neil McDonald has said the winger could come into contention more given recent performances.
A goal against Port Vale in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and a good performance off the bench against Millwall on Tuesday means Rivers is certainly in contention to start more games in the future.
McDonald told the official site: ‘He’s put the work in and he had a fine performance, even though he felt he could have done a little better against Port Vale, and he contributed on Tuesday by getting at the full-back, which we want people to do. He comes into contention for Saturday’
Adding: ‘He’s come into full-time training which has been difficult for him because he’s had a couple of niggly injuries. It looks as though he’s free from them now and hopefully we’ll see the best from him.’
