Mark Cullen scored again for Blackpool this afternoon as the Tangerines drew 1-1 with Ross County.
Three trialists featured for Pool today, right back Niklas Dams formerly of Borussia Mochengladbach, midfielder Jim McAlister who has played for Dundee for the last 3 years and striker Callum Ball who scored for Blackpool against Blyth Spartans in the last pre-season friendly.
Blackpool made a decent start to the game and had a couple of early opportunities but were pegged back on 25 minutes when an error from Tom Aldred allowed striker Brian Graham in on goal to slot past keeper Kyle Letheren. Blackpool threatened a few times before half time and Jack Redshaw had an effort cleared off the line on 44 minutes but Pool went in at the break a goal behind.
The Seasiders didn’t start the second half well and Kyle Letheren made a fantastic double save on 52 minutes to keep Ross County out and made another decent save on 59 minutes to stop County doubling their lead. Neil McDonald made a couple of changes soon after, bringing on Mark Cullen and Lloyd Jones for Jack Redshaw and Niklas Dams. The Tangerines started to improve after this and Mark Cullen had a couple of chances to score but couldn’t keep his efforts on target. However Mark Cullen’s hard work was rewarded on 89 minutes when he met Henry Cameron’s cross with a looping header to equalise for Pool. The match finished 1-1.
