Another day of sub-zero temperatures and snow in Yorkshire has forced match referee David Foster to call off the game because the playing surface was deemed ‘unplayable’ at the 5pm Pitch inspection.
Ironically Mr. Foster was caught in traffic due to the current weather in the White Rose County.
This is the 2nd game to be called off this week, with the already re-arranged trip to Oldham falling foul of the weather also.
Blackpool’s next game will be on Tuesday night against Norwich City in their FA Cup 4th Round Replay.
However, that game could be suspect to a pitch inspection should the freezing conditions continue – Norwich’s game against Luton at Carrow Road tomorrow has also been called off because of a frozen pitch.
