Rumours: Reading Now Lead Chase For Adam?

The Daily Record is today reporting that Reading are leading the way in a bid for Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam.

The 23-year-old spent the last half of the season at Bloomfield Road and proved to be an instrumental figure in keeping The Seasiders in the division.

Those performances have alerted other Championship clubs, with Barnsley this week having a £250k bid turned down.

And the Scottish paper now says that new Royals boss Brendan Rogers is preparing a £500k offer – smack on The Gers’ evaluation of the player – which could speed up the transfer process.

Whether or not ‘Pool can compete with Reading – who were beaten in the playoffs by Burnley – is questionable, but it is thought that Adam enjoyed his time here and has recently been looking at property in the Fylde area.

However, press in Scotland had Ayr United gaffer Brian Reid as the frontline candidate for the Blackpool job – when he wasn’t even considered by the locals down here – before Ian Holloway took over, so can they really be trusted with any rumours?

What is for sure is that it looks like this transfer story will run and run. At least it’s surrounding a player who could be coming to the seaside this year, rather than a Wes Hoolahan or Kaspars Gorkss scenario which marred last pre season!

The Daily Retard is what we call it in Scotland….a biased paper towards Ce**c and known for it, so I would not believe all they say….BUT VitalRangers sources have also been told that a 500k offer jhas been made an all is needd is the paperwork to come to an agreement – which coud cause tricky as Adam was on15k a week at Rangers and only he and his agent will know what he requires in the English Championship – a league that I feel he will shine in a he showed glimpses of brilliance at te Gers in th SPL and Europe, but was sometimes a bit inconsistent nd froze in the big games….but we wish him all thebest a Charlie – Yo will always be a Ger !
