Blackpool are rumoured to be close to signing Liverpool winger Adam Hammill on a season long loan.
According to George Burley who signed Hammill on a similar deal at Southampton last season:
” He can play right or left and is a quick player who likes to take people on. He has bags of potential. “
As well as his season at Southampton Hammill spent the latter part of 2006-7 on loan at Dunfermline Athletic, helping them reach the Scottish F. A. Cup Final where they lost to Celtic. He produced a number of impressive performances whilst in Scotland and scored a contender for Goal of the Season with a stunning 25 yard strike against Celtic.
A player with a flamboyant reputation, exemplified by a goal from the half way line in an F. A. Youth Cup game in 2006, has Simon Grayson found the ideal replacement for former Seasiders favourite, Wes Hoolahan? Hopefully!
