Another day, another rejected offer!

Bolton Wanderers have turned down a bid from the Seasiders for defender Chris Basham.

The 22-year-old has made numerous appearancea for the Wanderers’ first team in the past two seasons.

His steady rise in the Premiership – following a spell on loan at Rochdale – was said to have alerted the interest of Ian Holloway.

But Owen Coyle is said to want to keep hold of the player, who has also played in midfield for the Trotters.

No media source has disclosed details of the bid, but if pushed, I’d guess at around £250,000.

In other news, trialist Marlon Harewood is set to be given his chance to shine on Sunday as he’ll start against Hibernian at Bloomfield Road in the last friendly before the season starts.

Other rumours have deals for Angel Rangel and Stephen Dobbie close to completion.

Lads its beginning to get embarrassing – your owners seem to have a totally unrealistic view of what it means to be in the Premiership – this could turn out to be embarrassing for all concerned. I sincerely hope not as I have a soft spot for the Seasiders
