The injuries suffered by Cardiff and Spurs loanees Joe Lewis and Grant Hall, respectively, in the one-one draw with Reading on Tuesday have been confirmed as season ending setbacks. As a result we’ll not see either play for Blackpool again during their loan spells and quite possibly, in fact probably, ever again!

Lee Clark had talked about these injuries following the Reading game: Click Here

It was confirmed by Clark on the Official Website that ankles injuries will end their seasons but they do, so long as their parent clubs are in agreement, want to undergo their rehab with us while their loans remain in place.

‘Their seasons are over after picking up ankle injuries on Tuesday evening.

‘We had them confirmed this morning. The squad is depleted even more now, so some more of the youngsters will be given an opportunity.

‘We’ve taken them until the end of the season and the lads want to do their rehabilitation here, as long as their clubs are happy with that.’

Lewis’ loan has been a curious one at times, a poor season would have been even worse had it not been for the ‘keeper who made 34 appearances for us. He was in and out of the side at times with Clark always claiming it was ‘tactical’ but many feel that this was a ‘financially based’ decision…. As for Hall, he made 12 appearances but was injured within a minute of the restart at Bloomfield Road as Reading grabbed an equaliser.

This news comes following the decision by Wolves to recall Michael Jacobs: Click Here

All of this now means that, much to his annoyance, the settled side that we had started to see that was seeing some momentum carried forward an upturn on result will need to be changed again.

‘We were just starting to get a bit of consistency with the team selection, it looked like the lads were enjoying their game and the continuity.

‘Obviously there has to be at least three changes to the starting line-up at Ipswich, which isn’t ideal going to a team which is fighting for promotion.’

I would say we could now look to use those that ‘will be here next season’ but do we actually know who this applies too!
