Goalkeeper Sam Slocombe yesterday completed a move to Bloomfield Road and the 28 year old has joined on a 12 month contract with an option for a further year.
Following his release by Oxford United over the summer, he comes in as Colin Doyle’s replacement following his departure for a quid!
Slocombe made 23 appearances for Oxford last season as they secured automatic promotion into League One for this year, and prior to his spell with them, he spent seven years at Glanford Park with Scunthorpe United where he played 135 times.
Speaking to the Official Site after penning his deal, Slocombe explained.
‘The project that the gaffer is putting together here seems quite appealing and we have a really good opportunity this season to give it a right good go.’
With Slocombe becoming the seventh arrival after midfielder Danny Pugh, manager Gary Bowyer explained.
‘It was important that we moved swiftly to replace Colin Doyle and in Sam we have a goalkeeper with good league experience. He’s been promoted from this division with Scunthorpe United and Oxford United and is another strong addition to the squad.’
