Vital Football understands that the steel needed for the impending South and South-West stands will arrive on Monday morning.

It is thought that the steelwork surrounding the new structures will take eight weeks to complete once the progress begins on Tuesday – given there are no further time delays.

This will take us to around the 23rd August for completion of the steel part of construction, and cladding on the SW side of the ground has already been ripped off in order to begin the next stage.

The steel will be delivered in small chunks at a regular basis, rather than all at once, ready for steady production.

The signs at the moment are looking good, and given no new delays, the final parts of construction should be ready to go in September.

Sadly it looks like The Seasiders will miss out on having the South ready for the visit of Newcastle United in mid-September, and thus lose thousands on that gate. This is because nobody can be sure how long it will take to fill out that area once the steelwork is done and to put seating in.

But for you keen webcam watchers, next week should be fun!
