In a surprise move, BFC chairman Karl Oyston has publically stated his committment to building a permanent East Stand.

Oyston is famed for his dithering and his lack of committment to developing the ground, so his statement needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

However, he has said that he wants to tap into the great work done by ReBlackpool to develop an East Stand which could contribute to hosting events outside football.

Undoubtedly Oyston wants ReBlackpool to fund the development as much as possible, and it remains to see if they are prepared to work with a man notorious for his poor business skills.

If they are though, then perhaps our off the field progress is beginning to match our on the field progress – last week it was announced that the South Stand will open next month.
