After a first half where they were the better team but failed to score, Blackpool carved Sheffield United apart in the second half to record their sixth consecutive home win.

Charlie Adam and David Vaughan came on at half time for Al Bangura and Gary Taylor-Fletcher, and both were instrumental in the victory.

The very impressive Neal Eardley fired a freekick over the bar early doors, whilst United’s Morgan was involved in some argy bargy with Jason Euell.

Baptiste headed straight at Mark Bunn from a Charlie Adam freekick ten minutes into the second half, whilst at the other end, James Harper fired straight at Matt Gilks.

The Blades were resorting to playing long ball as the Seasiders dominated, and Brett Ormerod and Alex Baptiste both went close before Marcel Seip made it two in two, heading home unmarked at the back post from a David Vaughan corner.

Mark Bunn then turned Eardley and Ormerod shots over the bar as the Seasiders looked to kill the game off, which they did with 20 minutes left; Jason Euell sliding the ball home from a Neal Eardley cross.

The Blades then made a double change and began to look more dangerous, but it was still the Seasiders dominating proceedings.

Charlie Adam hit the roof of the net again from the halfway line… how long until one of these finally goes in?!

Ian Holloway then made his final change; Hamuer Bouazza replacing Ishmel.

Ormerod then volleyed wide before Adam did make it 3-0 with a finish from the edge of the area after good work from Emmanuel-Thomas.

Alex Baptiste was named man of the match in the closing stages, as the 5 Live Sports Extra commentators waxed lyrical about the Seasiders.

Holloway was bold with his team selection tonight and it paid off. He and everyone connected with the club will now be hoping to turn around the away form, starting on Saturday against Swansea.
