Blackpool have lost yet another first team member from last season with Ludo Sylvestre rejecting the new contract put to him.

Paul Ince offered new deals to seven out-of-contract players, the Frenchman among them, however even a “vastly improved” deal wasn’t enough to keep the popular player at Bloomfield Road and he becomes the third of those to reject an offer.

His agent, Christian Emile, today confirmed to The Gazette he’s looking for a “new challenge” with his mind made up to move on: ‘Blackpool did offer him a new contract at the end of the season but Ludovic will not be renewing.

‘He has decided to leave for a new challenge.’

The 28-year-old does intend to stay in the English game though with a move to the Premier League likely with several clubs showing an interest, including Hull, Norwich, Swansea, Fulham and former Blackpool boss Ian Holloway’s Crystal Palace.

Last summer it was revealed that the midfielder wanted to move on, so the rejection of a new deal, no matter how disappointing, isn’t going to be overly surprising.

Nevertheless the club lives on and will move on!
