Blackpool’s League 1 season continued with a defeat against Oldham at
The above video shows the highlights from this game at Boundary Park on Tuesday.
Oldham, who have two games in hand as well, pushed Blackpool down to 22nd following this one-nil defeat as the losing run continued.
Positively though Doncaster remain only two-points better off in 20th and they’ve been on an ever worse run than us yet John Sheridan’s side will fancy their chances of catching Donny more than we would at this stage!
After a goalless first half the winning goal came early in the second when on 53-minutes January signing Matt Palmer scored his first goal for Oldham with that enough to see them though to a victory that took them above us.
Here’s a round up of the League 1 action from the other games played in midweek….
These were the other results.
Tuesday 15th March 2016
Fleetwood 0-1 Walsall
Oldham 1-0 Blackpool
We only saw a couple of games played, the results had an impact at the top and bottom but more so at the bottom….
A Walsall win (one-nil) at Fleetwood saw the Saddlers’ promotion hopes boosted, a play-off place is looking good but perhaps a late surge back into automatic promotion could be on with this cutting the gap on those above them by three-points, whereas the Cod Army still looking over their shoulder at the bottom four nervously.
Those they are looking back at are Oldham (one-nil) who beat Blackpool to see the Latics’ hopes of staying up helped but the potential fall from the Premier League into the bottom of the Football League in such a short amount took another step towards reality for the Tangerines following this defeat at Boundary Park.
