Blackpool travelled again on Saturday, like the previous weekend when goals were scored at Yeovil they were also scored at Colchester but on this occasion scored in a three-two defeat at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
A one-nil lead was lost with some poor defending contributing to Colchester running out three-two winners in the end, which saw Blackpool beaten away from him for the first time in three-matches.
Defeat is something Andy Taylor has told the Official Website he’s looking for us to ‘bounce back’ from quickly from what was a disappointing afternoon at Colchester.
‘We`ve got to bounce back. It`s a disappointing result but football`s brilliant at giving you another opportunity right around the corner. We should have pressed home our advantage after we went 1-0 up, but we`ll have to pick ourselves up and go again next week. There were decisions we felt could have gone our way that went against us, so all in all it was a disappointing afternoon.’
A late Brad Potts freekick, when he scored from 25-yards, gave Blackpool hope of something but it was too late for Pools with Colchester holding on.
That goal is something Taylor feels does show there’s a belief in this Pools squad and we’ll keep fighting until the last with him concluding continued performances like that will see results coming too.
‘One thing we`ve got is a good team spirit and we keep going until the end, we never know when we`re beaten. Even when we went 3-1 down we didn`t give up, managed to get one back and were pushing for an equaliser. We go again next week, address the game in the same way and if we keep performing well I believe the results will come.’
