That’s Better!

Ian Holloway was a much happier man after Blackpool’s 3-1 win at Carlisle than he was on Saturday.

Two goals from new signing Jason Euell and a close range effort from Brett Ormerod (although whether it was he or Ben Burgess who scored is apparently debatable) helped overcome a hard-working United side.

The home side did take the lead early in the game, but Holloway was pleased with the way his team fought back.

‘It was a good game and a nice result and I was pleased with the way the lads pulled themselves back from one goal down,’ said the gaffer.

He does however admit that The Seasiders are very short on numbers ahead of the season curtain-raiser a week on Saturday away at Queens Park Rangers.

‘Obviously their ears were stinging from Saturday but they did well and it was a very good workout, especially as there were only 13 players in the squad who are actually our players.

‘That is woefully short of what we need but hopefully that can be sorted out after our meeting today.’
