The Seasiders In The News…

News of bids for Danny Carlton and Ben Burgess, along with a defeat for the reserves and a whisper of a new signing.

Morecambe are mulling over an offer for long term BFC target Danny Carlton, Pools third of the year for the young striker, that’s believed to be around 70K. Carlton did however play for The Shrimps last night, as they won 2-0.

Rod Taylor, chief exec said – ‘A bid was tabled at the end of last week and we are looking at that at the moment.’
‘We have always said as long as the deal is right for the player and right for Morecambe FC, he will go with our blessing. We will never hold a player back but we have got to be fair to our club and our supporters.’

Simon Grayson is also believed to be close to a deal with Hull City for their big target man, Ben Burgess.
The offer is around 100K, and Pool are hopeful something will be agreed before Saturday’s clash with Bristol City.

Phil Parkinson, manager at Hull said -‘There have been several clubs in to look at Ben because big target men are hard to find.’
‘There’s no way we’ll leave ourselves short at this stage of the season because we need to get cover in ourselves.’

The Blackpool reserves today lost to their Oldham counter-parts 1-0. There were a couple of trialists playing, the most impressive being Paul Collins, a centre half from Manchester City.

Blackpool Vital Football also understand that the goalscoring midfielder that BFC are talking to is Stuart Green of Hull City. The cultured midfielder would be a fantastic addition to the squad, and would follow current team mate Ben Burgess on his way to the seaside.
