Rumours are circulating today that Huddersfield Town striker cum midfielder, Gary Taylor Fletcher could sign a deal with Blackpool in the very near future.

The former Lincoln City man scored against The Seasiders last term when Simon Grayson`s men ran out 3-1 winners over Town in November.

‘Fletch` has notched up 21 goals in 82 league games for The Terriers, but many of those games he was stationed on the wide right, so therefore doesn`t give a true reflection of his goalscoring prowess.

In a career that began at Northwich Victoria, the Liverpool born number ten has found the net 75 times.

‘GTF` would become the third Huddersfield Town player in a matter of months to join The Seasiders, with important first team players Paul Rachubka (now signed permanently) and Chris Brandon (short spell on loan) having both donned the tangerine in recent times and both played a key role in ‘Pool`s promotion to The Championship.

Taylor – who was 27 last month – has always been renowned for his tricky skills and creativity in the lower leagues, and in 2005 Peter Jackson fought off many clubs to take the sought-after striker to The Galpharm Stadium. If Taylor-Fletcher were to sign a deal, and with Simon Grayson actively seeking another striker, the likelihood would be that he played wide right, which would either mean a change in formation or a very attacking midfield, especially if Irish winger Wes Hoolahan plays on the left.

With both Taylor-Fletcher and Hoolahan playing in midfield, it is important that The Seasiders have their two tough tacklers Keith Southern and Michael Flynn fit and ready for August.

On 8 August 2006, Taylor-Fletcher scored the 500,000th goal in The Football League, with a fierce 25-yard drive in a victory over Rotherham United.

Reports were pointing towards Gary TF signing today, but Blackpool Vital couldn`t comment on that at this moment in time.
