News has broken that Barnsley left-back Robbie Williams is expected to sign a loan deal until the end of the season before tomorrow’s loan deal deadline.

The full back will sign a deal with the Seasiders which will keep him at the club until May 27th, which is the date of the League One Playoff final.

Williams made the breakthrough into the Barnsley first team back in 2002 when he made his debut against Brentford – followed by 8 more performances in the first team where he impressed – as he did at Reserve team level.

A product of the Barnsley youth system, Williams has made 15 appearances for the team in The Championship this season – proof that he could well be a valuable acquisition for Grayson.

The player is currently on a team bonding trip to the Lake District but will sign the appropriate paperwork before tomorrow’s deadline – and could even be put straight into the squad to place Bradford on saturday in the wake of Shaun Barker’s suspension [with Danny Coid switching to right back].
