Blackpool lost out on the chance to go 5th in League One after a poor 1-0 defeat at the hands of Rotherham United.

A Chris O’Grady strike on the hour mark was enough to secure some much needed points for The Millers and dent ‘Pool’s playoff hopes.

The Seasiders had the opportunities in the game to snatch at least a point, but after Andy Morrell missed a sitter a few minutes from time, you just knew it wasn’t to be our night.

Obviously with that game being the one in hand over the teams around us, we haven’t slipped down the table, which has to be a bonus after such a poor display.

Having said that, it’s an awful result and we’ve lost some of the initiative we had on Oldham above.

What is it about us losing to relatively poor sides? We’ve played Rotherham (bottom) and Brentford (second bottom) four times this season now, and lost each time. Why I keep asking myself? Very disappointing indeed: especially when you look at where six could have taken us.

Why did we lose tonight? Complacency? Too cocky? Was it the conditions? Poor team selection? JOIN IN ON THE FORUM
