UNITED GAME OFF

Blackpool’s clash against Manchester United scheduled for tomorrow evening has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Covers and blowers have been on the Bloomfield Road pitch for days now, but that hasn’t stopped large areas of the pitch from becoming frozen, and after a pitch inspection a few minutes ago, referee Peter Walton has called the game off.

The news is a massive blow for the Seasiders with the game scheduled to have been screened live on ESPN infront of a full house at Bloomfield Road.

Indeed, the club could now be subject to a fine from the Premier League if they decide that the club did not do everything possible to get the game on.

Questions are already asked why the club did not have undersoil heating installed under the pitch last summer upon securing Premier League football (we are the only Premier League club without it).

Could this be another fuck up by chairman Karl Oyston? Remember, he only purchased pitch covers last season when it became obligatory to do so (and after a string of postponements). Let us know via the comments section below, our forum or on our latest fans’ poll.

No new date for the game has been announced yet.

You need to get some undersoil heating installed in the summer whatever league you are in.
