Gary Bowyer admitted to mixed emotions following the draw with Carlisle on Saturday however, as much as it could (if not should) have been a different outcome; Kyle Vassell took the positives from this match.
Carlisle came into the match at Bloomfield Road as the only unbeaten run in League 2, going away with it too after the two-two draw.
Vassell felt we ‘played them off the pitch’ in the first half but an inability to take the chances, with Mark Gillespie making a string of saves in the Carlisle goal, means this is a match you take the positives from. Telling the Official Website.
‘I`m a bad loser but games like this you have to take the positives We played them off the pitch and we came from two goals down so it shows the character of the team. I thought their keeper was Man of the Match, particularly in the first-half. That’s how it goes sometimes so if we keep doing what we`re doing results will come.’
Vassell, with his fourth-goal for Blackpool, and Armand Gnanduillet scored the goals to earn the point in the end.
The pair are beginning to form a good partnership with and ‘understanding’ that he concluded was another positive we should take forward.
‘It came at a good time. I`m happy to score goals and the big man produced a great finish so I thought we were going to win it. If the strikers are scoring goals it gives the whole team confidence as they`ll be looking to get the ball to us. We’re getting a bit of an understanding. He set me up on Saturday, I set him up the other week, so it`s positive.’
