Blackpool secured a 1-0 win over Hartlepool in League 2 on Boxing Day.

A second half winner from Mark Cullen kept Blackpool in the play-off picture.

The first half ended goalless with Blackpool denied early in the second half as Hartlepool keeper Trevor Carson made a fine save to keep out an effort from Brad Potts.

After Hartlepool had hit the post a few minutes earlier Blackpool were ahead through Cullen on 64 minutes.

The home side could have secured a late point following a Tom Aldred handball but Lewis Alessandra lasted his penalty over the crossbar.
