Whatever the outcome of Plymouth’s match with Portsmouth the League 2 lead will remain with Argyle with a repeat of last seasons play-off semi-final taking Pompey to Home Park where the lost having won the league match in the regulation season.
Accrington were another side that missed out in the play-offs with them playing host to Blackpool who are struggling around the midtable mark after relegation last season, heading into this Gary Bowyer has spoken of his confidence of Pools getting going.
The away form has been positive enough for Exeter but struggling in the bottom two the Grecians head to Barnet knowing nothing but a win at the Hive would give them a chance to move out of the relegation zone.
Few clubs in the whole of the English league can claim an unbeaten start to the league but now a couple of months in Carlisle can claim this with Keith Curle’s side hosting Hartlepool at Brunton Park as Craig Hignett looks to become the first visiting boss to manage this.
Second placed Doncaster will look to keep that place, a win against Colchester at the Keepmoat would ensure that and depending the Plymouth result Donny could even close in on the leaders, or have others close in on them!
Graham Westley will take charge of Newport for the first time; he’ll take his new side to Yeovil looking for a win that will help the Football League’s bottom side improve their chances of moving forward under him.
We can say it goes without saying the expectation; most definitely the hope at least, will be for a positive result.
