Blackpool’s League 1 season continued with a draw against Oldham at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday.
A point isn’t necessarily what Blackpool wanted, but it would do more for Pools’ bid to avoid relegation than it would have Oldham’s, yet that was the outcome in a nil-nil daw.
Playing against his former side Danny Philliskirk played a part in a move that almost saw Blackpool going ahead with Danny Lafferty backheeling onto his own post before it went away to safety.
Lafferty, at the right end, was denied a winner for Oldham by Pools loan ‘keeper Dean Lyness.
These were the other results.
Tuesday 16th February 2016
Blackpool 0-0 Oldham
Bradford 2-0 Southend
Bury 1-0 Sheff Utd
Colchester 1-1 Chesterfield
Millwall 0-2 Scunthorpe
Rochdale 2-2 Crewe
Bury (one-nil) recorded a win, to recover very well from a six-nil thrashing against Coventry at the weekend, against Sheffield United at Gigg Lane to see Nigel Atkins’ side continue to struggle with them looking in danger of missing the play-offs, with Bradford’s (two-nil) chances of this increasing with a win against a rival from this Southend at Valley Parade.
The great form under the caretakers at Scunthorpe (two-nil) continued with a fine win at the Den another play-off chasing side Millwall with, at the other end of the table, a one-one draw between Colchester and Chesterfield did little to help either side, most definitely not the U’s at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
