The League One season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.
Victory at second bottom Gillingham for Blackburn was enough to take Rovers – pre-season favourites to win the title – into the top six for the first time this term.
A positive reaction was seen by Bradford as they saw off Doncaster to move up to third.
Bristol Rovers, recovering from a midweek defeat at Portsmouth, who trumped Plymouth to the League Two title last season, added to the Pilgrims’ misery with a win at the Memorial Stadium to leave Argyle at the foot of the table.
Having collected a first win in three – inflicting a third defeat in four on Fleetwood – Charlton moved up to fifth a place behind Peterborough after Posh suffered a heavy home defeat against Oxford.
Meanwhile, Oldham made it successive victories – after beating Peterborough – with a win at Pompey, which was overshadowed by some ugly scenes inside and outside of Fratton Park.
Early season pacesetters Shrewsbury, four points clear, maintained their advantage over Wigan – who themselves won against Walsall – after a victory over Scunthorpe, who dropped out of the top six as a result.
Here’s a round-up of the League One results.
