Blackpool’s League 1 season continued with a defeat against Millwall at the Den on Saturday.

The relegation worries increase with Millwall running out three-nil winners with, as is becoming ‘the norm’ for us now, ending with 10-men with Hayden White the latest player sent off.

It didn’t take Millwall too long to go ahead with Lee Gregory heading the home side into an 8th-minute lead, which was increased when a freekick from Jed Wallace had the Lions in complete control by the midway point of the first half.

We went down to 10-men with a little under 15-minutes to play when Hayden White collected his second yellow card, coming after Brad Potts had gone close to getting Blackpool back into the game.

A Tom Aldred handball saw Millwall gain a late penalty; Steve Morison made no mistake with to leave Pools stranded in the bottom four.

These were the other results.

Saturday 5th March 2016
Bury 0-0 Bradford
Coventry 0-1 Rochdale
Crewe 1-1 Burton
Doncaster 0-1 Shrewsbury
Fleetwood 2-2 Sheff Utd
Millwall 3-0 Blackpool
Oldham P-P Swindon
Port Vale 2-0 Colchester
Scunthorpe 0-0 Gillingham
Southend 0-1 Chesterfield
Walsall 1-3 Barnsley
Wigan 1-1 Peterborough

Burton (one-one) missed the chance to further extend the lead at the top when the leaders were held to a draw at struggling Crewe, with other results going for them with Wigan, Walsall and Gillingham all failing to win, either drawing or losing.

The Barnsley (three-one) win over Walsall not only saw the Saddlers recent disappointment go on is also saw the fine form the visitors to the Banks’s Stadium have been on go on with that win enough to take them above Coventry (one-nil), who lost to Rochdale.

Blackpool (three-nil) and Colchester (two-one) saw their chances of survival, they’re pretty slim for the U’s anyway, suffer further knocks with defeats to Millwall and Port Vale, respectively.
