Walkers Walkout

What a farce the past few days have been for the Foxes. As an outsider looking in, the midlands club thumped four past Watford at the weekend and all seemed well. But murmurings of squabbles between eccentric chairman Milan ‘I’ll run everything’ Mandaric and Martin Allen were evident. Then on Tuesday night the Foxes’ Carling Cup tie at neighbours Notts Forest was abandoned at half time because of Leicester defender Clive Clarke collapsing. Thankfully, Clarke is making steady progress towards a recovery, and we all wish him well.

So, for Mandaric to push Mad Dog out of the door after those events at the City ground seems to be poor timing to say the least.

All Blackpool fans will be anxious to find out who Mandaric goes for to fill the Leicester hot seat. We are all aware that Larry was a hero, and still is, at Leicester. I just hope that Mandaric doesn’t go down that route. The early indications are good, with rumours of Neil Warnock, Gary Megson and Peter Reid being the likely front runners for the job.

I believe that this would be an exellent opportunity for Karl Oyston to show his committment to Simon and offer him a new contract. At the end of the day, Larry has more than proved himself to be a quality manager; he deserves a longer deal to stay.

I don’t believe for one minute that Larry will be interested in the Leicester job, and I have every confidence that Simon is here for the long term, hopefully to fulfil Mr. Belokon’s Premier League ambitions. So come on Karl give your manager the security he deserves, and make sure the fans don’t have to worry about any approaches from the Foxes!
