Wes the Canary

The protracted saga of Wes Hoolahan’s future seems to be over with the Irishman choosing Norwich as his destination.

Hoolahan, who made his Republic of Ireland debut last month, should sign a three year contract at Carrow Road after the Canaries activated a £250,000 release clause in his contract.

Wes made 88 appearances in a Tangerine shirt scoring 15 goals. Arguably his most memorable moment for Pool came last December at Deepdale where he cheekily chipped a penalty down the centre of the goal to sink Pool’s bitter rivals.

Moving in the opposite direction will be Matthew Gilks. The goalkeeper, 26, should challenge current number one Paul Rachubka for a place in the side. Gilks, a former Rochdale stopper, failed to break into the first team at Carrow Road.

The worst kept secret in football is out and Hoolahan’s Pool career is over. Wes gave us many glorious moments to savour and everyone at Blackpool Vital would like to thank Wes for his efforts playing for Blackpool. Good luck Wes, but not in the second game of the season!

Thanks Wes but I for one say Norwich are welcome to him.

Wes Hoolahan… you have made the most stupid decision you are ever likely to make. Norwich are scum, they make me feel physically sick. Their kit is grotesque. They are relegation candidates. The manager is rubbish. Darren Huckerby is a ponce. Nobody likes them, they are a disgusting club… it will ruin your career son. I have lost the huge amount of respect for you as a player before. RANT OVER!!!

I take it you are unhappy with his decision?

    Yep!

Don’t forget to post your messages for Wes on the Wes Memorial Wall on the forum. Good or bad, it doesn’t matter. So long to our most creative, technically superior player.

Wes, you bellend. Prepare to become a journeyman.
