Where are they now?

The midfielder spent a successful loan spell at the seaside during the 2005-06 season when Simon Grayson was taking his first tentative steps into management.

Morris was signed on loan from Leeds United and made an excellent impression on the Pool faithful with a number of whole – hearted displays with no lack of quality.

The left sided player scored his first goals for the club against Scunthorpe in the 5-2 win on Sky in what was Grayson`s first game in charge as permanent manager.

Morris scored twice that day, with his second a sublime left foot curler from 20 yards into the top corner.

Ian went on to make 21 starts for Pool, scoring one more goal in a 4-2 home success over Doncaster.

At the end of the season Morris returned to Leeds but eventually signed for Scunthorpe on a permanent basis, with the Seasiders plumping for a certain Wes Hoolahan to play on the left wing. We may not have known it at the time but Hoolahan instead of Morris proved to be a shrewd move by Grayson.

Morris scored three goals in Scunny`s promotion season last year. This time round Scunthorpe haven`t been helped by Morris`s knee injury which has limited him to 16 league appearances for the Iron. Scunthorpe look to be heading back to League One, where, perhaps Morris will be at his best. Having said that, the Irishman is only 21 and probably has the potential of playing at Championship level in the future. All the best Ian and thanks for the brief but happy memories!
