I for one have mixed expectations for Saturday. On the one hand, I`m expecting big things for this weekend. The thought of getting to see the new signings in action is one of excitement; Chopra and Davies are the players which in particular I anticipate to deliver most.
However, on the other hand I`m feeling largely pessimistic for Saturday. As I`ve mentioned in previous articles we`re lacking in many key areas, and if nothing is done about this before the game then we could struggle against the newly promoted side.
I accept it may not necessarily be ideal for us to do all our business this week, the last thing we all want is for Ince to panic buy and rush through a large quantity of deals within a few days.
Contrary to that, bringing in around 3 players this week would do us no harm at all. But is this a possibility or simply a fantasy?
Rumours have been coming in all week linking the club with an abundance of different players. Matt Mills, Keith Andrews and Stephen Hunt were looking the most likely to join on soon, but question marks have been raised over the deals due to the length of time it is taking to complete them.
Chairman Karl Oyston gave an interview for talkSPORT yesterday, claiming the Tangerines were ‘behind in preparations`, something us fans were already fully aware of. He was also quoted saying: ‘It`s been a difficult summer for Blackpool`. ‘We`ve probably got in only half the players we want to recruit`.
Karl mentioning this in an interview hopefully means he`s aiming to do something about it, but with only a few days to go before the season kicks off getting deals done before then will certainly be tough.
