So, here we are again a brand new season, new players but will it be the same outcome, can Blackpool make something of this season or are we in for another year of midtable obscurity?
Brentford Team News:
New manager Leroy Rosenior is without four players, Peters, Tomlin, Owusu and Nelson. Oli Skulason may make his first start in over a year following a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Player to watch: Sam Tillen
Since the young defender has come in from Premiership big boys Chelsea Tillen has managed to hold down a spot in the centre of defense. At 21 he may be young but has made 20 first team starts for the bees so far.
Blackpool Team News:
First of all debut news, Paul Tierney, Shaun Barker Adiran Forbes, Wes Hoolahan are all expected to make debut starts. We still have no idea about who will earn the number one spot, new boy Rhys Evans or Lee Jones will content that.
Loanee Danny Graham might have to settle for a place on the bench with Parker and Vernon being preferred over the Boro forward. Ian Evatt may also have to settle for a place on the bench after his loan move from QPR.
Injuries doubts rest on John Murphy who still is carrying a knock on his back from last season. Matty Blinkhorn has a slight muscle strain so might not make the squad along with Simon Wiles who picked up a knee injury in the pre-season friendly at Lancaster.
Player to watch: Wes Hoolahan
The young midfielder has shown a glimpse of what he’s capable of, a couple of good goals in Latvia now its time to see if he can cut in League One.
Match Facts & Stats
Last season the teams shared the points on both occasions, a no score draw at Bloomfield Road where Tommy Wright was sent off early on.
In the return leg Pool halted the Bee’s promotion hopes when Peter Clarke (remember him) scored a late equaliser after a Lloyd Owusu penalty.

Interesting read. I agree that Wes is our player to watch. I really like what I’ve seen of the lad so far and think he’s going to be a real match winner.
Sorry to see Wes on the bench as he looks a player who could really ‘hurt’ opponents.
Looking forward to it. Onwards + Upwards
