This is the final phase of the Blackpool FC acquisition deal. There is some details adjustments and co-ordination made. I am a slightly concerned about this deal, because of the lack of experience in acquisition of a football club. I have never done such a big deal in the UK. This is the first experience of such kind and I would like everything to be arranged perfectly. This is a kind of test, I challenge myself. This is like the Torino Olympic Games closing ceremony, when Latvians surprised everyone with the performance of the longest free wingless flight. All the spectators were astonished, said ? Wow! ? and followed the performance breathless. This asked amazing efforts while training, but the result was worth it; because people all over the world get to know that we, Latvian, are able to do something that no-one else is able to do. I to some extent feel the same; sure I will not surprise everyone in the world, but myself ? definitely. I work really hard and I raise the slat higher. I feel really pleased when I achieve the new goal.
At the moment I am not entitled to disclose them, but believe me these are impressive figures.
How Long Until The Deal Is Completed?
While arranging the details of the deal we came across the lack the knowledge about the details of British legislation with my Latvian lawyers and now we actively cooperate with British lawyers and auditors in order to attain the results of the best practices in the area. I am very interested in getting this deal finalized as soon as possible, because we need enough time to get prepared for the new season.
Background Info On Mr. Belokon
Mr Valeri Belokon is one of Latvia?s leading businessmen who has established successful businesses in many different branches, thus developing the economy of Latvia.
Mr Belokon business interests spread over the number of areas. The major are financial consulting and banking, food industry, media and publishing and natural resources refinement outside Europe.
He is actively involved in social and political life of Latvia and he is interested in world dynamic development issues. Mr Belokon has participated in International Forums and Conferences including NATO Forum on Business and Security in 2004. He is an author of various publications both in local and international media.
Among the social projects supported and developed by Mr Belokon the most noticeable is Baltic Institute for Strategic Studies. However Mr Belokon also supports book publishing and sport activities. Sport activities have always been an important issue for Mr Belokon. He is an active supporter of Riga Golf School. Consequently the logical development of Mr Belokon interests is the acquisition of Blackpool FC.
He has attended Massachusetts University (USA) Business Studies course and currently he is the active Member and Chairman of the Board of the number Latvian enterprises.
