The Seasiders travel to Swansea on Saturday chasing top spot in The Championship.

Ian Holloway’s side lie in 5th – just two points off leaders West Brom.

And if they notch their second away win of the campaign, ‘Pool could top the pile by 5 o’clock.

However, they’re up against a sterdy Swansea outfit who are a totally different proposition since the arrival of manager Paulo Sousa in the summer. They’ve conceded just two goals in their last seven games whereas last year they were liable to ship a few.

But they were admired the entire division under Martinez for their passing football and Ollie has actually spoken about adapting some of the Swans’ passing values at Bloomfield Road.

So far it’s working!

Vital Quotes:

Ollie post-Sheffield, on changing the line up:
‘I always try to make changes, because I believe I have now got a squad with strength in depth.

‘The new lads took us in at 0-0 and the guys who came on made a difference. We weathered the storm and stepped it up.

‘I’ll carry on with my policy of making changes, because each match in the Championship is horses for courses.’

Sousa post-West Brom win:
‘It is a very important win for us against a side that are top of the table, who will win promotion at the end of the season I’m sure.

‘We deserved the win and it reinforces the confidence we have in ourselves and in our work.

Swansea City Team News:

‘Keeper De Vries set to make his 100th league start.

Probable team:
01 De Vries
02 Williams
03 Painter
05 Tate
22 Rangel
07 Britton
08 Pratley
11 Van der Gun
12 Dyer
27 Gower
09 Beattie

Player to watch: Nathan Dyer

Signed from Southampton in the summer, Dyer is a tricky winger with lots of pace.

Usually operates on the right hand side, so he could provide a tough opponent for Stephen Crainey at left back.

Blackpool Team News:

It’s impossible to say what team Holloway will pick, but it’d be good to see Bouazza play for his counter attacking prowess.

Matt Gilks is likely to keep his spot in goal but Neal Eardley today said he isn’t sure what team the gaffer will pick.

Player to watch: Charlie Adam

The midfielder totally changed the game on Tuesday night and capped off a wonderful second half with a crisp finish for the third goal.

He’ll want to stamp his authority on the likes of Darren Pratley in the City midfield and will feel he’s got the ability to control yet another game.
