Downtime, Edge, Kay, F4, Power to the people…
Downtime
For about a week the site has been down, the explanation from the people at the top was that something that would never happen, happened. All the previous articles and features are still on the site and we`ve lost nothing. If it does happen again, fingers crossed it won`t, we`ll set up a temporary message board so the banter may continue. So what`s being going on at Bloomers in the past week and a bit??
Edged out
With Lee Jones fit again at the club rookie keeper Lewis Edge has been loaned out to Rochdale on loan. Grayson has stated that fringe players would be loaned out to gain first team experience with many not being able to even get a regular game in the reserves.
Edge has made one league start and one F.A. cup start for Pool but with Evans in fine form and back up of Lee Jones it looks doubtful that the young mad will get a look in at Bloomfield Road in the near future.
Also moving out this week was striker Sean Paterson who joined Southport for a month, another names flying about to leave the club on loan included, Donnelly, Burns, and Wiles.
A-O-Kay
Another young prospect at Bloomfield Road has pledged his future to the club, Mathew Kay signed a professional contract which will keep him at the club for the time being. Kay has impressed in the middle of the park for the under-19`s and the reserves.
Kay made his debut for the first team last year in the home victory over Scunthorpe, since that momentous game Kay has only been able to make a couple of appearances on the bench, as they say one for the future.
Fantastic Four
Every week the press association select their pick eleven from the weekends action, for the first time in a while four Seasiders where chosen, (well I`ve checked the team of the week for the last three years and I can`t remember).
Defenders, Shaun Barker and Michael Jackson, and wide men, Wes Hoolahan and Simon Gillett were the select four. Simon Grayson stated in the week past that it would look like Gillett would be returning to Southampton on the 6th of November and that a return up north wouldn`t be possible until the January transfer window.
Fan Power
This week saw another BSA fans forum, the chance for the fans to put their questions to people at the Club. Attending was Karl Oyston, Simon Grayson, Andy Morrell, Micheal Jackson and for the first time Valrey Belokon, although with no translator. The main points to come out of the evening were positive on the whole.
A fee for winger Wes Hoolahan has been agreed with Livingston, so we can keep him after the season long loan finishes. Grayson had turned down Ian Morris in the summer who was offered to us by Leeds United.
Putting a sign on the stadium would not happen until a sponsor for the ground was secured. A new training ground facility is in the pipeline but nothing set in concrete yet. Belokon has been busy in the homeland looking to buy a feeder club for us and just to confirm what we all knew, that we wouldn`t be ditching the tangerine colours for maroon!
