In the second week of “The Opposite Corner”, Blackpool VitalFootball take Oldham Athletics John Sheridan`s views and produce them to Seasiders fans.

John Sheridan – OAFC

When asked about the result, Sheridan replied “A draw was probably a fair result, but we did so well to get back into the game.” The Oldham gaffer went on to add “At 2-1 up, we looked comfortable enough to take the three points – we did so well to get ourselves into a winning position, but couldn`t get the result.”

“I thought we were poor first half, but raised our game in the second and dominated. I`m disappointed for the lads as they showed a lot of character again to come back in the second half.”

It was disappointing after we had got ourselves back into the game not to go on and win it.

‘We deserved three points for our second-half performance and I’m disappointed for the lads.

‘Better players would have killed the game when they had the chance and we could have done that, but we kept the ball in play and that led to Blackpool’s late equaliser.’

Holding A Lead

When asked about holding onto the lead, John Sheridan agreed his side should have held on – “I didn`t have a go at the players, but explained that they should have killed the game at 2-1, maybe being a bit more intelligent.”

Point In The Bag

“At the end of the day it`s a point away from home, and we`re on a nice little unbeaten run” Sheridan exclaimed.

Chris Porter

Sheridan also took time out to complement striker Chris Porter. The Latics manager said “Chris got another today – if he keeps banging them in then we`ve got a chance. He`s important to the team.”

The Near Future…

“I`m telling the lads I want six points from the next two games.”
