11 games unbeaten and another clean-sheet after a whirlwind performance from Paul Rachubka in the ‘Pool goal that ultimately kept the Tangerines in the game, denying Leicester with great double saves on more than one occasion.
Keith Southern grabbed the winner on 63 minutes for Blackpool as he netted somewhat controversially in the eyes of Leicester support and management as one of their players was down injured in the build-up – it is now down to the referee to stop play instead of having to kick the ball out into touch.
Seasiders midfielder and new signing Michael Flynn was guest commentator on BBC Radio Lancashire after missing out on the 16-man squad and he was clearly delighted with ‘Gnashers” goal.
Leicester kept the pressure on the ‘Pool defence in the 2nd half, however even new signing Dudley James Campbell (‘DJ’ to you and me!) couldn’t break the deadlock as he was denied by a fantastic save from Paul Rachubka down to his right hand side at close range – at least, that was how the radio described it!
