Adam At Crossroads

Charlie Adam, somewhat of a revelation during his loan spell at Bloomfield Road during the second half of last season, had admitted that his career is at a crossroads.

The Rangers midfielder is the target of several English clubs, including Blackpool, but insists that the only thing that he is concentrating on is returning for pre-season training at Ibrox next week.

‘I still have three years left on my contract at Ibrox and, ideally, I’d love to see that out,’ said the 23 yearold in an interview with The Blackpool Gazette.

‘I worked really hard to earn myself the five-year deal I signed in 2007, so I’m not about to do anything rash that I might regret.

‘At the moment, I’m only thinking about being as fit as possible when Rangers restart training on July 9.

‘When that happens, I’ll probably discover where my future lies. I really want to settle down with one club, preferably Rangers.

‘I’ve also had temporary spells at Ross County and St Mirren but I can’t keep joining clubs on loan.

‘I realise I’m approaching a major crossroads in my career. It’s obvious I’ll have some serious thinking to do shortly.

‘My first priority is to try and resurrect my career with Rangers. At the same time, I have to be realistic.

‘If it’s obvious I’m going to struggle for a starting place at Ibrox, then I really will have to seriously consider my options.

‘At present, though, I just want to get myself as fit as possible before reporting back. Then we’ll see what the future holds.’

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is currently in Latvia meeting with club president Valery Belokon in an attempt to convince him to increase his budget for next season and thus allow him to meet Rangers’ demands – which is reportedly £500,000 – for the player.
