Adam Injured In Scotland Win

Last night was a mixture of sweet and sour for Charlie Adam.

The iconic Blackpool captain started and starred in Scotland’s 3-0 friendly win over Faroe Islands.

Starting in a defensive midfield role – a position he adopts at times for the Seasiders – Adam dictated much of Scotland’s game and picked up two assists.

However, he limped off in the second half after a collision. Initially the injury looked like a bad one, but the player himself has come out today and said that he’s just a slight strain of his medial ligament and that he should be fit for Saturday’s Premier League six pointer against Wolves at Bloomfield Road.

Adam’s performance will have pushed him even closer to the Scotland starting XI for next year’s European Championship qualifiers, and fellow ‘Pool team mate Stephen Crainey did himself no harm either.

Back out of the international wilderness thanks to withdrawals from the initial squad, Crainey acquitted himself well in his first Scotland appearance since the days of Berti Vogts.

The full back bombed forward and caused the opposition problems on many occasions, although did look a bit suspect at the back.

Ex ‘Pool loanee Barry Bannan also played and starred in the win, confirming what we all know; that he is a very talented young man.

‘Pool targets Garry Kenneth and David Goodwillie also made cameos from the bench in what was a good and welcome win for Craig Levein’s side.
