Barnsley manager Keith Hill has admitted to being ‘really pleased’ that his name has been linked with the Blackpool job.

Hill, who has been at Oakwell since May 2011, operates on a shoestring budget and is widely praised within football circles for the job he has done at the club.

The Seasiders are on the lookout for a new boss following Ian Holloway’s decision to join Crystal Palace yesterday.

When asked about being linked with the vacancy at Bloomfield Road, Hill said: ‘It pleases me no end. People might start respecting the job I’m doing on limited resources – and I mean really limited.

‘It doesn’t mean I’m interested, but I’m really pleased. It’s very difficult on limited resources in the Championship where there’s so much money swishing around. We have to develop players, and then we sell them.’
