Two dismal defeats in three days have plunged Pool closer to the mire at the bottom of the Championship.
Blackpool suffered a 4-1 defeat at Derby County on Wednesday night. Despite Rob Edwards` first half equaliser, the Rams scored three times in the final 16 minutes to complete the win.
This was followed up by another toothless home display against Watford yesterday. Two second half goals for the visitors condemned a lacklustre Blackpool to 17th place in the league, just five points above the relegation zone.

Youngsters progress

Better news for Blackpool`s youth team who edged through to the next round of the Lancashire FA Youth Cup. Goals from Jake Hobbs, Jake Forshaw and a Steven Ralston penalty secured a 3-2 at Morecambe.

Off the pitch

Seasiders legend Alan Suddick is being treated for cancer at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. He has received messages of support from fellow Blackpool legends Jimmy Armfield, Glyn James, Tony Green and Tommy Thompson. Suddick scored 76 goals for Blackpool between 1966 and 1976. All our thoughts are with him and his family at this difficult time.

This week we must dedicate it to Alan ‘the King` Suddick, who could bend the ball better than Becks himself. For all the younger fans, like me, just ask your Dad about Suddick and he will tell you what a fine player he was and what great service he gave for BFC.

Well, things can only get better for the Seasiders. A nice easy trip to Bristol City awaits next Saturday. Let’s hope we can pull off a shock and continue our decent away form at Ashton Gate.
