On the pitch

Blackpool drew 1-1 with Southampton at Bloomfield Road yesterday. DJ Campbell’s penalty after 20 minutes gave the home side the lead only for David McGoldrick to equalise for the Saints in the second half. The point moves the Seasiders six points clear of third bottom Nottingham Forest.

Off the pitch

Alan Mahon has signed on loan from Burnley until the end of the season. The 30-year-old has been out of the picture at Turf Moor and jumped at the chance of first team football with Pool. The Republic of Ireland international made his debut in yesterday`s game against Southampton.

Danny Coid is hoping to be back sooner rather than later from his hamstring pull. Coidy came off after 20 minutes against Barnsley but he could be back for the Plymouth game on April 4. Coidy was speaking at the BSA quiz night last Monday as part of Danny`s testimonial year of events. Danny hinted at more events to come such as a dinner and golf day. He also reiterated his desire to stay with the club next season. Get him signed up please!

Alan Suddick sadly passed away earlier this week. ‘The King` will always be fondly remembered by Blackpool fans for his fabulous skills and ability to bend the ball way before Becks and co. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
Tommy Thompson and Glyn James laid a wreath behind the goal at the North end of Bloomfield Road before yesterday’s game with Southampton.

Best thread on the forum

All the messages that you have sent for Alan Suddick have been fantastic. They really show the younger fans especially just how great a player he was.
