The Seasiders secured their survival in the Championship thanks to a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at Bloomfield Road yesterday.

Dexter Blackstock had given the visitors an early lead. But Brett Ormerod equalised before half time against his old club with an excellent finish from an acute angle.

Blackpool were forced to play the final 20 minutes with 10 men after Ian Evatt was sent off for a professional foul.

Meanwhile Blackpool reserves drew 2-2 with Tranmere at Bloomfield Road on Wednesday night. Stuart Green scored his fourth goal in two games with Louis Almond also on target.

Off the pitch

Paul Rachubka has signed a new contract at Blackpool. The goalkeeper has penned a new two year contract with the option of a further season. The Number one is in the running to be Player of the Season.

The Seasiders have agreed a new kit deal with the sports fashion retailer JD Sports. The new deal will run for the next two seasons. Carbrini sportswear will adorn Blackpool`s shirts as the new home kit was given its first outing in yesterday`s match against Nottingham Forest.
