Blackpool have confirmed the signing of Moroccan international Salaheddine Sbai.

The 25-year-old joins on a deal until the end of the season with an option of a further year.

News broke of an immediate pending transfer from French club Nimes yesterday by the Blackpool Gazette.

But it has taken until this afternoon for the contract negotiations to finish and internatinal clearance to arrive.

Sbai was lorded by Ian Holloway after the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United, with the manager saying the Moroccan international has a fantastic left peg.

Despite being capped for his country, Sbai has had a modest club career so far. Before joining Nimes in 2009, he plyed his trade at Charleroi in Belgium.

It has been said that Ollie decided to sign Sbai on the back of watching DVD’s. A risky strategy, but Elliot Grandin was also signed this way.

The player was at the United game, and after receiving international clearance, should play some part next week against West Ham United.
