Well, what do you know, Blackpool are facing a striking crisis yet again ahead of an important Championship clash, this time at home to Birmingham City.

With reports today saying top scorer Ben Burgess could be out for the season, it leaves Tony Parkes with hardly any options: DJ Campbell is a certainty to start against his old club, but with Daniel Nardiello not fully fit and Roy O’Donovan prefered on the wing, ‘Pool will need to draft in a centre forward soon.

And they’ve publicly gone on record saying they’re very optimistic of striking deals for a couple of players before the Brum game – one believed to be a striker.

However, if a move for a front man doesn’t materialise, Gary Taylor-Fletcher may be used up top to fill for the void for now, and the former Huddersfield Town man has played there before.

Sadly, Danny Mitchley is another injury victim this week, as he took a knock in the practice game on Wednesday, and he was looking as if he’d get a spot in the sixteen.
