Winger Adam Hammill has been linked with a move to the Seasiders by the Blackpool Gazette.
The 27 year old is available on a free transfer after leaving Huddersfield on the 1st September and is currently searching for a new club, with McDonald very interested in his services.
Hammill had a loan spell at Blackpool in 2008 and the club have been linked with signing him permanently on a number of occasions, only for him to end up signing for other clubs.
The midfielder has played for a number of different teams including Barnsley, Wolves and then Huddersfield. He also had a recent spell on loan at Rotherham United.
The Gazette have revealed that talks have been held and he could soon be joining the club on trial, along with striker Guly Do Prado.
