The Tangerines have been linked with a loan move for Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton

According to HITC Sport, the Tangerines have been linked with a loan move for Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton. The 19 year old, who has represented England at U19 and U20 level, is seeking a loan move in order to get first team football having only made three appearances for the Brighton first team.

The young goalkeeper told the Brighton official site: ‘I am a young goalkeeper, and there are not too many playing regularly in the Championship. So it will be beneficial to go out and play regularly. When I come back I want to push for the number one spot.’, adding: ‘There are a few offers that have come in, and I think by the start of next week I should have some idea where I will be going for the first half of the season.’

Interest in Walton is thought to be high, with Bradford City, Swindon Town, Crawley Town and Gillingham also thought to be interested in the youngster. It is unclear whether Blackpool have made an offer for him yet, but the signings of goalkeepers Colin Doyle and Kyle Letheren could potentially limit Walton’s first team opportunities at Blackpool meaning he may opt to join one of the other interested clubs.
