Blackpool have today completed the signings of striker Jack Redshaw from Morecambe on a two year deal and defender Lloyd Jones from Liverpool on a year long youth loan.

Redshaw has joined the club after spending three and a half seasons at Morecambe, scoring 36 goals in 120 games for the Shrimps and boosts manager Neil McDonald’s striking options ahead of the new season. The 24 year old told the official site: ‘I like the way the gaffer is trying to build the club and wants it moving in the right direction. I think the time is right to step up into League One, I`m confident in my own ability and want to be successful with Blackpool.’

Pool were also able to complete another deal today, the signing of Liverpool U21 captain Lloyd Jones on a year long loan. The youngster, who is highly rated among the Liverpool ranks, spent time out on loan at Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham last season and has a point to prove if he wants to make the Liverpool first team. The 19 year old boosts a threadbare Blackpool defence, with the Seasiders still being desperately short of right backs and centre backs.

McDonald will certainly want to bring in a few more faces before the new season starts at Colchester on the 8th August, but the arrival of these two signings today and the completion of several other deals prior to these mean improvements have been made on last season’s recruitment policy. However, the Tangerines still have a lot to do if they are to have a complete squad of players with options in every position by the 8th August, but more new signings are expected soon.
