Reports in the Blackpool Gazette have linked the Seasiders with a move for 23 year old Swindon Town Striker Michael Smith.
The target man scored 18 goals last season for the Robins and interest in him is thought to be high, with Barnsley also being linked with a move for the striker.
Pool are short of options up front and also lack a target man, meaning Smith could be an ideal player for Pool, especially since he’s a proven goalscorer.
Though Smith’s current club Swindon would certainly command a decent fee for his services, something which has proven a huge stumbling block in signing players in the past meaning there could be less chance of a deal being completed.
Smith would be a decent signing but Pool still need additions in other areas. Defensive and midfield experience should also be a priority for McDonald if Pool want to begin to move in the right direction by starting to win games.
