Talking to BBC Radio Lancashire, Neil McDonald insists efforts to bring in new faces are ongoing and there are ‘3 or 4 plates spinning at the moment’.

The manager has overseen a complete overhaul of the squad this summer and despite bringing in 11 new faces already, the poor start to the season indicates that work still needs to be done to improve the squad.

He told the BBC Radio Lancashire: ‘We’ve got 3 or 4 plates spinning at the moment. It does take time to recruit players, it’s taken us over 2 months to recruit 11 players and I think we’ve done really well with that.’

‘Through pre-season we’ve worked very hard all together to try and bring the players in, we’ve been successful in that more so than not.’

‘We’re just trying to find the balance between the squad and between the players to give us a chance of winning football games because that’s what football’s all about.’

More experience and quality is certainly needed to improve on this poor start to the season. Let’s see what happens in the remainder of this transfer window.
