Blackpool take on Burton Albion tonight as Neil McDonald looks for his first victory as Tangerines boss.
Pool struggled against Rochdale on Saturday and lacked the quality to really be in with a chance of winning the game, McDonald will certainly be hoping for better from his side tonight.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s Burton Albion lost to Barnsley on Saturday but beat Scunthorpe on the opening day. Promoted from League Two last season, they will certainly be a tough opposition for Pool.
Vital Quotes:
Talking to the Blackpool Gazette, McDonald said: “The heads are still up, this is a learning curve for everyone at the club. We need a response on Tuesday and the players will be ready.’ Adding: “It`s going to take time but the harsh reality is we need to win football matches and that`s what we are trying to do. We are working hard on the training field and we will keep working hard ahead of the game on Tuesday.’
Blackpool Team News:
Colin Doyle could still miss out with a shoulder injury and John Herron is still recovering.
McDonald may decide to make some changes to his side following the defeat on Saturday. Pool will likely line up in a 4-4-2 with Cullen and Redshaw up top but there could be changes in the midfield, with Jose Cubero in with a shout of making his first start this season.
Player to watch: Bright Osayi-Samuel
The young pacey winger always has the potential to cause problems for the opposition and will look to do so tonight.
Burton Albion Team News:
Stuart Beavon will likely start up front for the away side with Lucas Akins in midfield. John Mousinho will look to put in a solid display at the back.
Player to watch: Lucas Akins
The midfielder impressed for Burton in League Two last year and scored against Scunthorpe on the opening day.
Match Prediction:
Burton are a good side and Pool haven’t been very good lately. So I’ll go for a 1-0 away win for Albion, as depressing as that prediction is.
